1. Agreement to these terms
By accessing or using Medical Training Navigator Australia you agree to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. We may update these terms over time; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
We are an independent educational product. No agency, employment, partnership, or hospital affiliation is created by your use of the site. Placeholder: Legal entity name, ABN, and contact address to be inserted on registration.
2. What Medical Training Navigator Australia is
We provide verified, public information about intern, resident, and registrar training programs across Australian states and territories to help junior doctors and medical students discover and compare options. In v1 the product includes 22 verified programs with attributes such as training stage, specialty, sub-specialty, state or territory, health network or district, setting classification, participating hospitals, description, and source links, plus filters, text search, up to three-way comparison, and private peer review submission held for moderation.
We aim to address workforce shortages through transparency, including by surfacing under-resourced metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote programs that often receive less visibility. We describe options; we do not direct your career choice.
3. Educational discovery only — no professional advice
Not medical advice. Content does not provide diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or clinical guidance.
Not employment advice. We do not act as a recruiter, employer, or hospital representative. Recruitment timelines, eligibility, contracts, and rostering are determined by health services and are subject to change.
Not immigration advice. Visa eligibility, skilled migration, and registration pathways must be verified with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Department of Home Affairs, and relevant colleges and employers.
Not legal advice. Nothing on this site creates a legal relationship or provides legal guidance on employment matters or discrimination claims.
Always verify details with primary sources linked per program, your university, postgraduate medical council, and prospective employer before making decisions.
4. No guarantee of placement, match, or completeness
We do not guarantee intern or registrar placement, interview, or offer. We do not control hospital recruitment, college selection, or employment contracts. Program listings in v1 are a starter set and do not represent every training position in Australia. Ordering is alphabetical within filters, not ranked by quality or preference. Use this tool as one input alongside official guidance.
5. Program information — sources and possible changes
Each program links to original health service, Local Health Network, Hospital and Health Service, postgraduate medical council, or college sources where available. We verify name, network, state, training stage, and hospitals at publication time, but information changes with annual accreditation cycles, funding, service reconfiguration, and recruitment updates.
- We will make reasonable efforts to correct errors when identified, but we do not warrant that program descriptions, accreditation status, or participating hospitals are always current or complete.
- We disclose when information is pending confirmation where feasible, and encourage cross-checking source links before applying.
- We do not reproduce enterprise bargaining terms, pay tables, or confidential workforce plans. Refer to employer portals for those details.
6. Accounts and your responsibilities
Account creation is handled by Buildy platform authentication. You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of your login and for activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information about your training experience when submitting reviews and to not impersonate another person, training level, or institution.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there is misuse, security risk, or breach of these terms. In v1 account deletion is handled via the authentication provider; pending private reviews will be anonymized or deleted upon request as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Review submission rules — what is allowed
Own experience, factual, professional. Reviews must be based on your own direct training experience at the program. Do not submit second-hand anecdotes, rumors, or information about individuals who have not consented.
No patient-identifiable information. You must not include patient names, URNs, DOB, images, or details that could identify a patient. This applies even if you believe information is de-identified. Any submission containing such information will be rejected and deleted during moderation.
No harassment, hate, or unlawful content. Do not include abusive language, threats, harassment toward named individuals, protected characteristic discrimination, defamation, or instructions that facilitate wrongdoing.
Moderation, rejection, and privacy editing. All reviews in v1 remain in pending status and are not publicly listed. When public display is introduced, reviews will be moderated for privacy, safety, and factual presentation. We may edit only to remove identifying, unsafe, or unlawful content or to apply your chosen anonymity setting of initials, role, or fully anonymous. We never edit a review to make a program look better for commercial advantage.
Creator-only visibility in v1. Pending reviews are visible only to you as the creator and to authorized moderation tooling via secured entity policies. There is no public review feed, leaderboard, or hospital response feature in this version.
8. Editorial independence — no fees, no sponsored placements
If our funding or business model ever changes in a way that could affect independence, we commit to disclosing it prominently in the product and updating these terms before implementing any sponsored product. Until then, independence is non-negotiable.
9. Intellectual property
The site design, research synthesis, filter taxonomy, comparison interface, and original editorial content are owned by Medical Training Navigator Australia or its licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Program facts describing public health services remain in the public domain, but our curation, presentation, and explanatory text are our own.
You may use the site for personal, non-commercial educational purposes to evaluate training options. You may not scrape, bulk export, reproduce, or redistribute program data or site content for commercial resale, model training for competing products without permission, or creation of a substantially similar directory without written consent.
Reviews you submit remain your content, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, moderate, anonymize, and, when we launch public display, publish the moderated version in accordance with your anonymity choice and these terms, including for aggregated insights that do not identify you.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to access review submissions other than your own via manipulation of entity access or authentication.
- Upload malicious code, attempt to disrupt the service, or bypass rate limits or security controls.
- Post unlawful, defamatory, misleading, or harassing content, or content that contains patient information.
- Use the service to recruit for non-permitted commercial solicitation, spam, or to infer sensitive attributes about individuals.
- Represent that statements on the site are official advice from health services or colleges.
11. Disclaimers, limitation of liability
The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis for educational purposes. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law and applicable law, we exclude warranties of merchantability, fitness for purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that filters, search, or comparison will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your particular requirements.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Australian law. Where liability cannot be excluded, to the extent permitted by law our liability is limited to resupply of the service or payment of the cost of resupply. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of employment opportunity, relocation costs, or visa outcomes arising from reliance on program information.
You are responsible for verifying critical facts with official sources linked per program and your postgraduate medical council or employer.
12. Changes, termination, governing law, and contact
We may modify the service, including adding, altering, or removing program coverage, features, or review display logic. Material changes to these terms will be notified via an updated last-updated date and, where appropriate, an in-product notice. If you do not accept revised terms, discontinue use.
We may suspend or terminate your account access for breach of these terms, security reasons, or prolonged inactivity where required for data hygiene. Termination does not affect accrued rights or provisions which by nature survive termination, including editorial independence commitment, intellectual property, and limitation of liability.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and where relevant, Commonwealth laws of Australia. Where jurisdiction applies, the courts of New South Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting consumer rights under Australian Consumer Law.
